About Us
A Custom built rustic
cedar home, Mill Creek Lodge was designed by Dixie and Duane McGarva.
It is a bed and breakfast Inn
situated at the North end of Jess Valley, nestled in the rugged
Warner Mountains of Modoc County.There are two spacious, well
appointed guest rooms, one Queen size Sleigh bed, and the other
with a double maple bed. The guests are on a second floor loft
and share a large bath.
Staying at Mill Creek
Lodge provides unique opportunities for guests to enjoy a
variety of activities all year long. Spring, summer and fall can
include bicycling,
hiking, bird watching, and exploring the Warner Mountain Wilderness
Area. Guests
can fish Mill Creek, Clear Lake and Blue Lake, all listed among
the best in the
California Fishing Guide. (After the leaves turn gold and red,
guests should be sure
to bring their cameras and plenty of film for superb picture taking.)
When the snows
come, they may choose to cross-country ski in an unparalleled
winter wonderland.
The serene atmosphere of Mill Creek Lodge offers time to curl
up by a cozy fire to
read or enjoy a quiet moment in Duane's photography studio.
Mill Creek Lodge overlooks
the working cattle ranches of Jess Valley. It is a
nonsmoking, adults only bed and breakfast, which provides a home-cooked
country
breakfast including breads, muffins, pastries, fruit in season,
cereal, juice, coffee,
and tea. Arrangements can be made for box lunches and evening
meals. Mill
Creek Lodge is 13 miles from Likely and 33 miles from Alturas.
With modern
amenities and conveniences, it offers access to unlimited outdoor
sports as well as
the quiet and serenity of a bygone era. Mill Creek Lodge can accomodate
guests
horses by prior arrangement.
